When
the question of training needs comes up, troubleshooting
always heads the list. However, there was never anything
specifically for maintenance that was practical, easy to
use and affordable . . . until now. You can
begin offering the Systematic Troubleshooting course to
your people by ordering the Basic Package described
below. Additional materials may be ordered as needed
after purchasing the Basic, Presenter's Development or Instructor on a Disk Package.
SYSTEMATIC TROUBLESHOOTING
This is the traditional course in troubleshooting. There are three presentation options, described below:
-

questions and hands-on activities. The course also includes a special Leader's Guide with a full script of the video
and guidlines for discussions, questions and activities that are keyed to the video stop points.
Can be presented by any maintenance person, technician, staff person or
manager at a field location or in a plant or office.
Includes: Text-Workbook, four video DVD's with automatic stop points, Leader's Guide keyed to video stops, Trainer's Toolbox,
five Activity Books and a MIMIC machine

-

and enables students to learn the full content of the STS course. Includes computer friendly edition of
the Text-Workbook in print and on disk, a disk with masters of data entry tables, Leader's Guide with a disk
containing answers to questions and activities, and a Mimic.
STS II: MICROCONTROLLER-BASED SYSTEMS and STS II: CIRCUIT BOARDS and DIGITAL LOGIC
These two courses give participants a chance
to apply the principles of Systematic Troubleshooting (STS) to high-tech applications and circuit boards.
They are stand-alone courses that do not require completion of Systematic Troubleshooting, but if students
have taken STS, these courses are a good follow-up.
-
STS II: MICROCONTROLLER-BASED SYSTEMS
This classroom course allows your people to apply the methods in STS to understanding
the highly automated processes and machines they encounter on their jobs and enables
them to solve problems these systems can produce. All of these courses are hands-on using the Mimic.
Systematic Troubleshooting is not a required prerequisite. Three cases are included; Sequential work cell,
Microcontroller-Based Process and Skilled Craft by Robot
-
STS II: CIRCUIT BOARDS and DIGITAL LOGIC
In this course, student take the cover off the Mimic and get to troubleshooting the circuits that make it work.
This course can be used in either a self-instruction or classroom format.
