COURSE CONTENTS

Systematic Troubleshooting is designed around five types of information tables and three kinds of sketches that participants use to develop their skills in solving problems and understanding equipment. Each of these tools is explained and demonstrated in a separate section as follows:
  • Choosing the Fastest Way to Find a Cause

  • Troubleshooting Action Guide: apply systematic reasoning to machine problems

  • Process Sketch: analyze processes by showing the functions of components

  • Systems Sketch: speed troubleshooting by isolating systems

  • Physical Layout Sketch: drawings identify and locate critical parts,

  • Settings-Measurement Table: record readings and settings while machine is running right

  • Systems Table: organize information needed for troubleshooting

  • Input-Output Sequence Table: analyze step-by-step operations

  • Process Table: find defects in outputs with a matrix

  • Analysis Before Action: facts and detailed evaluation eliminate guesses
